Dr. Babulal receives Neuropsychiatric Syndromes PIA best poster for the 2018 Alzheimer’s Association International Conference

ISTAART Neuropsychiatric Syndromes PIA: Poster Winners

It is our great pleasure to announce that in the junior investigator category, that Ganesh Babulal from Washington University School of Medicine and Deniz Buyukgok from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine are the co-winners of the Neuropsychiatric Syndromes PIA best poster for the 2018 Alzheimer’s Association International Conference. Their respective posters were titled“Depression and Alzheimer Disease Biomarkers Predict Driving Decline” and “Task-Related and Task-Free Functional Neuroimaging in Apathetic Alzheimer’s Disease”.  Among the more senior investigators, Zahinoor Ismail’s (from the Hotchkiss Brain Institute at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine) poster “What Can the Mild Behavioral Impairment Checklist (MBI-C) Tell Us about Cognition and Behavior in Parkinson’s Disease?” was the winner.

The group of reviewers, which included Drs. Krista Lanctot, Jennifer Gatchel, Joanne Bell, Corinne Fischer, JM Papma, Paul Rosenberg, Pat Kesslak and David Miller, was impressed with the overall quality of the posters they reviewed. Given that Ganesh and Deniz’s posters were ranked equally, we decided to award both of them. In the more experienced category, Zahinoor, while having stiff competition, was the winner. It is nice to see that among our winners, three different countries and two continents were represented.

We again want to thank everyone who submitted and reviewed posters, and continue to be impressed by how engaged all members of the NPS PIA are. It is only through your continued involvement that we are able to advance the field.

Sincerely,

Dr. David Miller (Coordinator of the poster competition) and fellow poster reviewers: Drs. Krista Lanctot, Jennifer Gatchel, Joanne Bell, Corinne Fischer, JM Papma, Paul Rosenberg and Pat Kesslak.
